NEW PORTFOLIO IMPROVEMENTS

October 12th, 2010 | Uncategorized | No Comments »

Hey, so check out the cool new updates to portfolio viewing.  For full details or questions, please see the thread on MM:

http://www.modelmayhem.com/po.php?thread_id=637096

View All as Default Option

You now have the choice as to whether your portfolio shows up in View All mode by default or a specific album shows by default.

If you want all of your photos to show up immediately when someone opens your portfolio, set this to Yes.  If you want a single album to show by default, set it to No.

Click here to change this setting for your portfolio.  You can also reach this setting by clicking My Stuff -> Settings -> Portfolio View or the link on the Organize Photos page.

View All Sorting

When in View All mode (either because you have it set as your default view or if a member clicks View All in your portfolio) your photos will be sorted as follows:

1) Your photos will be grouped by album.
2) Your albums will be sorted in alphabetical order.
3) The photos within each album will be sorted in the order you set.

So if you want certain images to show up first in View All mode, put them at the top of whichever album comes first alphabetically.  Put the images you want to show last at the bottom of the album that comes last alphabetically.

————————————————–

Easy Portfolio Navigation

When viewing photos in Overlay Mode (Classic View Off), it is now even easier to scroll through photos.  Just use your keyboard’s arrow keys to scroll forward and back through the photos in the album you’re viewing.

————————————————–

More Image Links

We have added 3 links to your images (at this time only non-M images): MM Forum Code, Image Tag, and Raw Link.

Use the MM Forum Code to post the image in the forums or on your profile page.  It will show a thumbnail of the image and link to the image page.  Use the Image Tag link to post the image on another site where HTML is used.  Use the Raw Link to link directly to the image page.

NEW PRIVATE MESSAGE FEATURES

October 12th, 2010 | Announcement | No Comments »

We’ve added a handful of cool new features for your Private Messages!  Check ‘em out.  For more information, please see this thread on MM:

http://www.modelmayhem.com/po.php?thread_id=637096

Sort By

We’ve added three new ‘sort by’ features.  Simply click the “Subject”, “Sender” or “Date” lines and your PMs will be sorted by those fields.  On first click it is sorted in alphabetical order for Subject and Sender and in chronological order for Date (newest messages first).  If you click again, it will reverse that order.

Number of Messages Displayed

On the same line as “Inbox”, over to the right, you’ll see a drop down with the options of 10, 20, 50 and 100.  By selecting one of these, it will change how many messages appear on a page within your inbox.  If you would like to see more than the default 10 images per page, select one of the larger numbers and scroll to your heart’s content.

Message History

If you want to isolate just those PMs sent by a single individual you currently have two options.  First, if you see that individual’s name in your inbox list you can simply click the [+] symbol next to their name.  This will filter your inbox to display only messages from that individual.  If you want to return to your default (unfiltered) Inbox, simply click the [+] sign again.

The second method is to go to that member’s profile page.  Up top you’ll see a new icon labeled ‘Message History’.  By clicking this icon you’ll be taken to your Inbox, once again filtered to only show that member’s messages to you.  By clicking the [+] sign next to their name you can once again get to your default (unfiltered) Inbox.

Advanced Search

This is a feature in progress so stay tuned for improved search options.  Right now, by clicking on the ‘Advanced Search’ link (right next to the word “Inbox”) you will be taken to a search page where you are able to search text within the Subject Lines of your messages.  You can select the order of the results to be by Subject line or date, in Descending or Ascending order and you can filter by certain dates and/or certain folders.  In future releases we’ll enable searching by Sender and by content within the body of messages.

Current MM issues 12/9/09

December 9th, 2009 | Uncategorized | No Comments »

It appears that we are currently experiencing a bit of a sync issue between the memcache and one of the webservers. As such, you may see some strange behavoir, like threads incorrectly claiming to be locked or tags not showing properly. Most of these issues can be worked around by refreshing.

The tech team is working on resolving this ASAP. Thanks for your patience.

Model Mayhem status update

November 18th, 2009 | Announcement | No Comments »

http://www.modelmayhem.com/po.php?thread_id=525084&page=15#post11511021
1) I believe Australia and New Zealand have been totally restored (unfortunately a lot of the attack we’re experiencing was coming out of that region and so our trunk provider shut off access for a while – a couple of times – to give us and them some breathing room).

2) We are still working through issues with both email and photo uploading.  The photo uploading is an issue with our 3rd party host and we’re working diligently with them to better understand the issue.  Email is really still a result of the cyber attack – that is continuing.  We are working to resolve that as quickly as possible.

3) As I’ve mentioned above, our network is still being attacked.  The new hardware we have put in place is holding and allowing the site to stay up but at times we continue to see slowness and hiccups here and there.

I again, really really want to apologize for the inconvenience all MMers have suffered over the last 5+ days and greatly appreciate the patience and commitment you all have shown to both MM and IB.  As in all crisis situations, this has been a fantastic learning experience and we are coming out of it much stronger than we were a week ago.

For those of you that provided us with your hard earned cash in exchange for extra privileges (and the expectation that the site would be up) we will compensate you.  We’re just waiting until we can confidently declare “All’s Clear” before we do so.

Again, thank you for your patience.
